Real problems, and a place to find out where the new AI tooling actually holds up.

Family Bugle

An R&D side project. The point is not to start a business. It is to understand where AI actually is right now, expanding knowledge outside of work at Oracle, first-hand, by building with it.

So I have built the pieces rather than just used them. MCP is the standard that lets an assistant like Claude call someone else's tools; I've built the gateway, the servers and the apps on both sides of it, plus a command-line tool. Background agents that spin up their own sandboxes for the heavier work of reading and sorting listings. And evals — a fixed set of test questions I re-run — so I find out when any of it gets worse.

It runs on a real problem, which is the part that keeps it honest. There are 700-odd kids' activities around Park City at any time, scattered across dozens of sites, calendars and sign-up forms. Parents lose evenings to the search and still miss sign-ups. Family Bugle puts it in one place.

What I am really after is an autonomous org that continually gets smarter. The smallest honest version of one, run end to end, to find where it holds up and where a person still has to step in.
